Around noon, males cluser in large groups in the flower heads of Rushes. These 'siesta'-groups are easily disturbed; upon disturbance, the males fly away in all directions - to return after only a short time.

Females of this species fly almost continuously just above the ground, often through dense vegetation; occasionally they rest for a few seconds, but normally too short to approach and photograph them. However, this female rested long enough to take some photo's.
