Every time we went away from Kanab via the highway 89 to the north, we were amazed by the beauty of the canyons we drove through. On the 10th of August, I first explored the dunes along the Hancock road to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and in the afternoon I was dropped along the highway 89 to explore some of the canyons in more detail. Though the weather was somewhat challenging with high temperatures, intense solar radiation and enough wind to lose a lot of water, I greatly enjoyed inspecting the cliffs of the canyons at close range, as they revealed a peculiar beauty that is hidden from some distance.
On the 12th of August I revisited this area, but now I focused more on the biology rather than the geology.
