Log of site changes
Post 2020

The previous entry dates from 2.5 years ago, which might suggest that the site has stopped evolving. In a way this is true, since it has reached its final form. Nonetheless, the content is still being updated, with new species being added regularly, mostly from trips abroad but also from excursiosns in The Netherlands. Most recent additions are from October 2023 in Turkey, with some autumn-flowering plants. But despite these additions, I will no longer update the log file. Might you be interested to know the more recent additions, please use the search page.

  • March 2006: Complete restyling of site by Karen Karsten; links checked; dead links reanimated or removed; webrings etc removed.

When I developed this site in the late 90's, the web was relatively new, and webdesign underdeveloped. Eight years later, this site's design had really become obsolete, because webdesign standards have tremendously improved. Therefore, the site was in dire need of a complete make-over. Luckily, my wife Karen likes to play with computers, and she volunteered to rebuild the site. I very much like the result, which is a huge improvement over my original attempts. Thanks to Karen this website is no longer the ugly duckling of the web!

I aim to redo all original scans. The reason is that when I first started with the site, small size of pictures was desirably if not obligatory. With most people having access to the web with fast transmission, the need for small pictures has more or less disappeared. This means that the quality of the scans no longer has to be compromised by a small size. I apologize for those visitors that do not have fast transmission; but I think high quality is now most important.
