Natural History Photographs

At the end of this day, we stopped to visit an archaeological site, which is visible in the distance on the left landscape photo (the yellow hill top just right of the middle; its color derives from the exposed soil, as this site is still being excavated). But it was closed and fully fenced, so I could just look around for flowers. However, after a full day in the field, the prospect of a beer was difficult to resist, so this turned out to be short stop. The most interesting plant was the golden-yellow colorform of Ranunculus asiaticus, which till now I had only seen in the white form.
