Nemrut Daği can be approached from two directions; however, the way that approaches the mountain from the north was blocked some km before reaching the summit. The area close to the road block also was interesting, but the strong wind made it difficult to photograph insects. Several of these bees flew in the pit shown on the landscape photo above. They flew just below the upper rim, looking for nesting holes but only behind exposed grass roots! Their resting on the grass roots shown in these photos is thus not incidental. |
