Natural History Photographs

At the outskirts of Fethiye there are a few small strips of sandy beach with adjacent coastal dunes. Despite their limited extent, these are interesting places for bees, wasps and Bombylid flies as well as other insects. Sea holly (Eryngium maritimum), growing on the beach and in full flower during the visit, is very attractive to many bees, wasps and flies - hence attractive to me as well.
