Natural History Photographs

After returning from Heddal, we drove to an old silvermine, just 10 minutes late for a tour through the mine. While Karen, Tessa and Kimber visited the souvenir shop, I looked upon some boulders along the local roads. A few of them were dark rusty red, indicating a high iron content - and here I found a bright orange lichen, Lecidea silacea, as well as a few less outstanding species.
