As most of the land is used for agriculture, finding an undisturbed location proved very difficult. But small strips of less cultivated land can be interesting, too. The photographs below are of such a location. The two landscape photos are made from the same vantage point, in northern and southern direction. Van Gölü on the right photo is south of this vantage point.

The hill side sported a few isolated Bladder senna shrubs - host to this blue butterfly. The male shown here was courtshipping a freshly emerged female - just visible in the left corner of the photo.
