Yoncabaşi (Bitlis), Turkey
9 June 2010

After five nights in Ahlat we moved to Edremit at the south-eastern coast of Van Gölü. We made the first full stop, including the coffee break, just past the village Yoncabaşi. The road soon gives way to an earth road, which does not even show on the map. The bedrock is not volcanic but consists of sedimentary calcareous rocks. There were many more streams and the overall vegetation is much more lush than north of Van Gölü.
