Akseki (Antalya)
1 & 2 May 2014

Here the hunt for the White-backed woodpecker took place in earnest - in the end with success! Meanwhile I looked for Beard lichen and others. As the woodpecker isn't easy to spot, there was plenty of time for looking around. This area along the old road north of Akseki is a beatiful Pine forest, relatively unspoiled - although trees are certainly harvested. Quite unexpectedly, we found flowering tulips on small meadows along a track used for forestry-related purposes.
