Theth, Albania
Ascend to Qafa e Thorës
19 July 2017

On the morning of our final day in Albania, we went back direction Thore pass, to explore a small crossroad with copious hedges of flowering European dwarf elder, Sambucus ebulus. Various less common butterflies were present, with a first opportunity for me to take photos of the European beak or nettle-tree butterfly, Libythea celtis. Moreover, this was the only location wheer I found the mountain Apollo, Parnassius apollo.
