Crete, Greece
Pale
20 April 2017

Third stop on the route from Iraklion via Rethimnon and Spili to Kerames. Just south of Pale I thought I saw orchids flowering near the road. We stopped and I walked back, to find out I had spotted Himantoglossum robertianum, while we were driving at a speed of 80km/h... It turned out that there were quite a few other orchids flowering along the road, but the local landscape didn't entice me to photograph it.
