Haden Valley Basin | |
20 August 2017 |
After West Thumb Basin, we continued to see the mud volcano and the Sulphur cauldron located in Haden Valley Basin. Here we also found various dragonflies associated with the warm water, which made me wonder whether this far north their occurrence might be limited to geothermic areas - but this may be reading too much into this single co-occurrence. A short distance from the geothermic field toward Canyon Falls, we encountered a herd of bison, giving a glimpse of what the area might have looked like before Europeans entered the scene. |
