After two days in the high mountains, we decided to visit Aosta, a city with well-preserved remains of roman buildings and still functioning medieval buildings. The heat was oppressive though, and after having seen some of the highlights, we fled back to our holiday house on the mountain slopes, where temperatures are more bearable.
