| The hamlet of Jánovas is situated along the river Ara, and, little factoid, is situated almost exactly on the prime meridian. During the Franco regime attemtps were taken to dam the Río Ara, and the villagers were forced to leave since the area would flood if the dam was completed. But this never happened, and now some buildings are being restored. I visited Jánovas with Anco in October, and some photos of the area are from this earlier visit. In June Maurtis and I visited it after our strenuos hike in Valle de Ordesa, to take it easy for one day. |
